EMPLOYERS FEDERATION OF PAKISTAN CELEBRATED WORLD SAFETY DAY ON 7TH OF MAY, 2018

Employers Federation of Pakistan organised the International Health & Safety Day 2018 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi on May 07, 2018. The theme of the program was “Generation Safe & Healthy”. The program also included the 13th Annual Distribution Ceremony of the EFP Awards on Corporate OSH Excellence to 24 companies belonging to various sectors including Oil, Gas & Energy, Food, FMCG & Pharma, Services, Processing & Allied, Power & Utility, Textile & Leather and Agriculture.

A delegation on ASSE members attended the program on special invitation and included Akhtar Quddus (Regulatory Chair), Asim Rashid (Advisor Sindh), Anas Hammad (Member), Zulfiqar Dhakan (Member) & Javed Ahmed (Member). There was only one technical speaking slot which was given exclusively to ASSE in which Akhtar Quddus presented his views on “Road map for Creating a National HSE Culture in Pakistan”.

The opportunity was utilised to network with participants & to draw them in towards ASSE. A list was also prepared for follow up with potential members.

Ingrid Christensen was contacted & made aware of the two proposals presented to ILO thru Saad Gilani relating to Textile & Automotive sector.

Majyd Aziz Balagamwala, president of EFP, Zaki Ahmed Khan (VP) & Fasihul Karim Siddiqi (Secretary) were reminded that our MOU is now one year old & we need to operationalise it in a meaningful manner.

Saman Laiq Abbasi of K-Electric was approached to bring her into the ASSE fold as well as to give her the responsibility of establishing a WISE chapter in Sindh.

A professional photographer was hired to cover the event from the ASSE perspective. The set of photographs has already been shared with the President, VP & Secretary.
